Product details

A simple tweak, adding barbed fittings and a drop-angle to our favorite immersion chiller, spawns a new best-in-class product. Introducing Silver Serpent®, the most sanitary immersion wort chiller on the market.

Quickly cool your wort down to yeast pitching temperature and reduce the chance of contamination. All stainless steel coil construction is easy to clean and will not corrode like other metals.

No need to sanitize. Simply drop your clean chiller into the kettle a few minutes before the end of the boil and it will be ready to go.

Brew with peace of mind like never before. Drop-angle connections provide insurance against contamination. Surprise leaks stay outside your kettle and away from cooling wort.

Ensure secure tubing with proprietary barbed fittings. Eradicate shooting streams of water that make a mess in your brew cave. Do away with ill-fitting hose clamps on mis-shapen chiller connections.

Maximize flow and minimize fuss. The Silver Serpent® drop-angle eliminates kinked tubing. No more hassling with propping up water hose. Tubing can now hang tension-free, kink-free and problem-free.

Standard garden hose connection allows for brewing outside or connects to a laundry sink faucet as your chilling water source. Use the optional Faucet Adapter to connect your Silver Serpent® to a standard kitchen faucet when brewing inside.

Silver Serpent® Stainless Steel Immersion Wort Chiller

I good chiller with an annoying flaw

I’ve used this chiller for two brews and it works great as advertised. It’s taken my wort from just off boil to 70ish degrees in 20 minutes with my tap water being around 55-60 degrees F. Clean up is ridiculously simple a good spray off then soak in the kettle with the oxy clean. The only problem I have is that it was built using crimp clamps. So you’re stuck with 2 five or six foot plastic tubes that flop around and drag on the floor or are in the way all of the time. I will be upgrading it to some kind of quick release connectors in the future.

Works Great

Although a copper coil would have cooled the wort faster. This a more economical choice with the added benefit of being easier to sanitize.

A Major Time Saver

I put together a recirculating system with a large cooler, a 300 gph fountain pump and this cooler. I used the cooler to hold an ice water bath. I cooled a 3 gal wort batch from boiling to 70 deg in a half hour! This was an important part of the system. I like the sanitary stainless steel vs the copper. Cleans up easily.
