Simpsons English Peated Malt
2.5° L. Phenol level 12-24. While the malt is in the kiln, peat moss outside the kiln is gently smoked over slow burning coals allowing its vapors to drift above the malt. Peat malt is used in the distilling of Scotland finest whiskies, but has found favor with homebrewers and craft brewers in smoked beers. Adds intense iodine and seaweed smoke phenol character - a little goes a long way!

This peated malt was a slam dunk. Added just the right amount of smoke I was looking for in my small batch whiskey. I'm a fan
I think I used way too much, its not the grains fault. 4 oz in 10 gallons was way way too much in a smoked porter. It sort of overwhelmed all the malt and roasted flavors I though. Maybe 1 to 1.5oz in 10 gallon batch would be better.
Great peated flavor. I prefer islay scotch, and this was good, but not quite a laphroig peat
So far so good. I just ordered more. I don’t think I used enough in my last batch so I’m giving it another shot.
It gave a subtle smokey Scotch tone to the beer. It worked very well
