An interpretation of the classic scotch ale that originated in Glasgow, Scotland. A full-bodied ale, rich in malt complexity.
Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results.
Bronze Medal Winner, 2002 and 2004 Great American Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner, 2011 Great American Beer Festival. "Our interpretation of the classic ale that originated in Glasgow, Scotland. A full-bodied ale, rich in malt complexity. I am a fan of Scottish ales (after spending more than a few weeks in Scotland on several occasions) and his is one of the best tasting ones I have made or bought her in the US. Nice maltiness and great color! Easy to make. My son-in-law's favorite and he generally prefers lager style beers, pale ales.
ingredients were all fine, normal sanitizing methods followed. Normal temp range (low-mid 70's) Excessively fast fermentation in first 24 hrs - foamed out of fermenters
Still in second fermmenter
Bottling tomorrow. Hope it’s great!!
I’ve made a lot of batches, but this is one the beer drinkers keep asking me to make again.
