Vintner's Best® Strawberry Fruit Wine Base 128 oz.
Vintner's Best® Fruit Wine Bases are all-natural and made with real fruit juice. They are blended from the same formulations used by commercial wineries and allow you to avoid straining out the fruit pieces. Vintner's Best® Fruit Wine bases make 5 gallons of high-quality fruit wine at around 10% ABV. Easy, convenient re-sealable packaging with no pH or acid adjustments allows you to scale depending on your batch size. All you have to do is add yeast and water.
A blend of juice concentrates, corn syrup, citric acid and natural flavor designed to make a fermentable base for a strawberry wine blend at 18.6 Brix. The product is blended, pasteurized and can be stored at ambient temperature.
Recommended Yeast: Lalvin K1V-1116 or Red Star Premier Classique
For credibility reference, I have been all grain brewing for approaching 10 years. I’ve used Vintner's Harvest purees before with great success – very high-quality product. So, when I was recommended this product in substitute of the strawberry puree for a Milkshake IPA, I didn’t think anything of it. I truly wish I had never used, added this product. It took a very nice beer and may it a full loss / truly undrinkable / never going to get better drain pour. The syrup on its own taste bad, which I unfortunately discovered AFTER adding when I tried the empty bottle drippings. Flavors are VERY mundisal / medicine / cough taste – just horrible and no other way to describe it. I am very disappointed and we never use this product.
