Whirlfloc tablets are a blend of Irish moss and purified carrageenan that help precipitate haze-causing proteins and beta glucans resulting in a clearer finished beer. Use one tablet per 10 gallon batch of beer in the last 5 minutes of the boil.

I use Whirlfloc tablets because.....I'm supposed to! Ever since beginning to brew. Since I brew nothing but ales, and they are cloudy anyways, I'm thinking of trying a few brews without it to see if there is a difference. I've tried cold crashing and I noticed a more clearer beer but.....not worth the time and effort to me.
