Winter Warmer Extract Beer Recipe Kit
Minnesotans know more about keeping warm than just about anybody in the world. Our secret? It's in the beer. This Winter Warmer starts big and malty with a full body and spicy English hop profile. The flavor is complex malt with fruit, burnt caramel, and subtle chocolate, finishing sweet with a warming alcohol note. Similar to our Wee Heavy and Barley Wine kits, the Winter Warmer increases in complexity with age. A bottle makes a great stocking stuffer!
Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results.

Brewed this in May used 1728 scottish ale yeast with yeast starter. Use blow off tube or it will make a mess. left in primary for 3 weeks because fermentation was so vigorous and in secondary for 2 monthns. Tried one today. not quite fully carbinated but close. Definate chocolate taste but also a nice warming sensation. Will be nice when its cold outside
This one took a long time but it was so worth it in the end! Did a 4 week primary fermentation + 2 weeks in secondary. Came out tasting more like a scotch ale than commercial winter warmer styles I’ve had. Lots of dried fruit and chocolate flavors. Highly recommend!
One of my favorites. It usually ends up a little higher in alcohol than I expected the first time but tastes great and warms you right up on a cold day. One of my favorites to brew.
Got everything! Can’t wait to taste the final result!
So far so good. In its second week of fermentation. Made this last year for the holidays and it was very good. Looking forward to drinking and sharing this one over the Christmas Holidays.
