Product details

Clean, highly flocculant, and highly attenuative yeast. This yeast is similar to WLP002 in flavor profile, but is 10% more attenuative. This eliminates the residual sweetness, and makes the yeast well suited for high gravity ales. It is also reaches terminal gravity quickly. 80% attenuation will be reached even with 10% ABV beers. Apparent attenuation: 70-80%. Flocculation: high. Optimum temp: 65°-70° F

*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

Great yeast

My favorite. I've been brewing for over 25 years, and this is perhaps the best yeast I have ever used for my ales. Starts fast. Clean profile, emphasis on the hops, great attenuation.

Slow fermentation

Poor results. I never got active fermentation. My OG was little higher than recommended for this yeast and I may not have aerated as well as I could have.

Amazing

Used this yeast in an IPA I created. Made a yeast starter with it and it took off. Once I pitch it, fermentation started in 3 hours. Had a blow out from all the activity. Once that was handled, it fermented my IPA (OG 1.066) for 5 days. Tasted amazing when transferred into a secondary. Can't wait to try this in a few weeks!
