Wyeast 1272- good attenuation

Single pouch with an overnight culture totally over performed and fermented a heavy grain bill to a nice level of dryness with little residual sugar after 7 days. I broke my refractometer so o don’t have numbers on this, but the double IPA is delicious.

Flat-tasting beer

First time using liquid yeast and it will probably be the last it took about eight hours longer to begin fermenting them dry yeast. The recipe is Irish red ale, and I did add .5 extra oz willamette at 15 to go. I condition in bottles for almost 3 weeks, there is carbonation in the bottle, but the beer doesn’t have that fizz. beer tastes good, but no fizz. Strong hoppy beer like an ipa. I seriously doubt it will go to waste.

Covers rookie mistake

I tried multitasking when adding this yeast. Long story short, I was able to get a robust, although slightly delayed, fermentation even after adding only a quarter of a pack (the rest going onto my back patio).

Up and running strong right off the bat. Great fermentation.
