Product details

Classic farmhouse ale yeast. Spicy and complex aromatics including bubble gum. Very tart and dry on palate with mild fruit. Finishes crisp and mildly acidic. Benefits from elevated fermentation temperatures. Usually slow to attenuate. Apparent attenuation: 76-80%. Flocculation: low. Optimum temp: 70°-85° F

NOTE: During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

I expected more esters

I did two brews on the same yeast cake. One lower in temp and one a little higher. 68 < or 72 > It wasn't a temp aftermath.

What dimbulb at Wyeast put the name and number in small, silver print? Very hard to see when you are flipping through the packages at the LHBS.

This yeast is solid, but if you want more viable yeast get wlp565 pure pitch.

Have used this a couple times for a rye saison. Always brewed during summer when temps are high and I don't have to regulate. Has produced good beers.
