First time going with a liquid yeast. Will still make a starter. Hope it turns out well.

Performed perfectly

Gave me just what I expected, great fermentation at 68 degrees and high flocculation for a clear beverage without the use of spanish moss or other additives.

I’ve found the smack packs to be unreliable and ‘high maintenance’ The bubble is hard to break. I had one occasion where I thought I’d broken it and when it came time to pitch I had to break and had to improvise with what came out of the egg. Other times the bubble breaks with less effort. The yeast is shipped cross country and by the time it arrives I need to refrigerate. It usually takes a day or two to wake up, and then another day and a half to start fermenting. Having said that, the dry yeast is more reliable, and starts sooner, I still prefer the liquid as wyeast offers a wider selection of yeasts. Catch 22 The only recommendation would be to look into making the yeast bubbles more consistent in the effort to break them.
