Product details

Moderate nutty and stone-fruit esters. Bright beers easily achieved within days without filtration. For production of cask-conditioned bitters, ESB and mild ale. Alcohol tolerance approximately 9% ABV. Apparent attenuation: 67-71%. Flocculation: high. Optimum temp: 64°-72° F

From a well-known and highly regarded brewery in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. Full chewy malt flavor and character, but finishes dry, producing famously balanced beers.

*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

GREAT English Profile

I used this in a very simple bitter recipe and pitched directly - no slurry. Fermented at 67 degrees for 2 weeks with no diacetyl rest, and the flavors are spot on. Clean enough for the Golden Promise to shine through but it has just the right amount of esters you'd expect in an English session ale.

All good

Performed perfectly

Used it in an English Mild then repitched into a porter. Nice yeast, has character but not overwhelming, not too fruity but also not flat or too neutral.

Wyeast 1469 West Yorkshire Ale Yeast

I ordered this yeast to use in a five gallon batch of The Innkeeper. Due to all of the riots around Minneapolis the yeast was delayed and when it arrived it would not activate. I don’t believe it was a defect in the product I think it just sat in the hot mail truck too long. Needles to say I ended up using a dry yeast out of one of my other kits and the beer turned out fine.
