Wyeast 1968 London ESB is a highly flocculant top-fermenting strain with rich, malty character and balanced fruitiness. An excellent strain for cask-conditioned ales.

Highly flocculant top-fermenting strain with rich, malty character and balanced fruitiness. This strain is so flocculant that additional aeration and agitation is needed. An excellent strain for cask-conditioned ales. Apparent attenuation: 67-71%. Flocculation: high. Optimum temp: 64°-72° F

*NOTE:*During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

Made an ESB with 1.5 liter starter. Vigorous fermentation, 1.060 to 1.012 in three days.

I made the ESB kit with this strain and another smaller mild of my own creation with a 2nd generation. Both turned out great if I was patient. Early on they were a little rough and hot but once they were allowed to clean up the beers were super.
