LalBrew® CBC-1 Cask and Bottle Conditioning Ale Dry Yeast (Danstar)
LalBrew® CBC-1 Cask and Bottle Conditioning Ale Dry Yeast (Danstar) is a yeast strain designed to ensure adequate carbonation in kegs, casks, or bottles.
A Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast culture specifically chosen for its refermentation quality and performance, this dried yeast is perfectly suited for priming and conditioning in casks, bottles, or kegs. Alcohol tolerance is high, at 12-14%ABV.
This yeast can also be used for primary fermentation or slow or sluggish fermentations. When used for priming, dextrose (corn sugar) works best - this yeast does not metabolize maltotriose, so wort is not an ideal priming agent.
Recommended inoculation rate is 2 grams per 5 gallons, or approximately 1/2 tsp.
|Yeast Disclaimer||We strongly recommend ordering dry yeast in the summer months. We do include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeasts. It is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will survive the trip given transit times and particularly hot temperatures.|
|Min Fermenting Temp||59|
|Max Fermenting Temp||77|
I've had trouble getting a 12.7% Imperial Stout carbonated. This worked well for a 10% version. I'll be using it when bottling 8%+ beers from now on.
Danstar CBC-1 - Cask and Bottle Conditioning Ale Dry Yeast
I brew mostly lagers. After a lengthy cold lagering period, most of the yeast has become dormant and will not adequately react with the priming sugar to carbonate the beer. I add 1/2 tsp of the Danstar CBC-1 conditioning yeast to the priming sugar solution and add that to the beer before bottling. Works every time to give the bottled beer perfect carbonation.
Works well, 1/2 teaspoon per 5 gallons and she is good to go!
Worked as advertised. Very good carbonation on my last brew..
