Grainfather Glycol Chiller with Cooler Connection Kit
Temperature control is one of the most crucial elements for producing a good quality beer. It needs to be regulated and stable throughout the whole fermentation process to ensure the yeast doesn't get stressed and ferments correctly to get the right flavor profile.
With the ability to individually power and control the temperature of up to four Grainfather Conical Fermenters, each with their own fermenting schedules, the Grainfather Glycol Chiller is the perfect addition to ensure craft brewery-like results.
With the addition of the Glycol Chiller, your system is operating at the ultimate level and you are even able to cold crash and lager. The cooling sleeve is located in between the two stainless steel walls of the Conical Fermenter which is then hooked up to the Glycol Chiller. Temperature is dialed into the digital temperature controller and the liquid travels through this sleeve, cooling the stainless steel which in turn cools the beer in the fermenter. The cooling sleeve never comes into contact with the beer, is completely concealed and does not need cleaning or sanitizing - a true innovation for a fermenter on this scale.

I was hesitant to spend the $ to get the chiller and had been making do with the pump connection and an ice bucket. But that had some serious drawbacks in summer temperatures, and I could never cold crash. With the chiller, I stepped up to two fermenters and now I know that I can keep both of them at exactly the temperature I want.
The Grainfather glycol chiller gets the job done! I’m currently using it with one GF fermenter. It was relatively easy to setup and configure. I’m on my first brew with it now and so far I love it.
We just started using our Grainfather Chiller about 4 weeks ago, and it is currently chilling brews (2 beers, 1 mead) in 3 of our 4 Grainfather Conical Fermenters. Set-up was easy and we have had no issues so far.
This was the perfect solution for my home brew set-up. I had 2 Grainfather fermenters and was using water cooling from a 5 gal water jug a freezer to pump through the fermenters. This meant I had to have a large chest freezer with a fermenter on each side. The freezer could barely keep up with the fermenters if I was doing a lager. Now I can put 4 fermenters and the chiller in the same space as the old set up and can lager them all if I want. This set-up is great and is as close to having a professional brew house as you can get at home. Add a Tilt hydrometers for each fermenter and send that data to Sheets and you can watch the fermentation progressing at work!
