Kiwi Express IPA Extract Beer Recipe Kit
Forget what you thought you knew about the flavors of IPA and travel with us to the South Seas on the Kiwi Express! This exotic IPA recipe kit uses only New Zealand hops to celebrate the southern hemisphere harvest.
If you like Simcoe and Citra hops but are looking for the next resinous thing; if you like in-your-face hopbursted tastebud-erasers; if you're not among those who think the world doesn't need another IPA; then you should definitely just stop reading and brew this kit.
The setup is old (West Coast-style) but the punchline is new. A big but uncomplicated malt bill plus Wyeast 1056 set the stage and then stays out of the way of the ensuing lupulin circus.
Via a blend of New Zealand hop varieties, exotic flavors and aromas permeate your sinuses - sticky tropical fruit, lime oil, equatorial flowers, Tellicherry peppercorns - underpinned with an undeniable earthy funk. All senses saturated with hoppy hues of green and yellow. Massive late and dry hop additions leave nothing to your tongue imagination and prove absolutely ruinous to your palate should any other ale or lager be foolish enough to try to follow Kiwi Express in a tasting session.
The next frontier is the Southern Hemisphere. Welcome to the candy store, kid, here are the keys.

Wasn't the IPA I was looking for.
I've been brewing for a couple of years now and this beer is probably one of the better ones for someone just getting into the game. It's has good flavor and hoppiness. The time it takes is made up for because I feel it's pretty forgiving for a newbie with all the hops that is used. Definitely going to brew again.
Definitely a great IPA. Light in color and full of hop bitterness and flavor. I will brew again and again. Had a problem with the dry hops clogging the bottling bucket near the bottom. Next time I will have to use a hop bag or just stop bottling when it clogs.
Thank you for the excellent Kiwi beer!
Loved this beer from the start, powerful citrus IPA with heavy grapefruit and gooseberry flavors leading the citra wave! If your looking to introduce an IPA to your non-IPA drinking friends this is it! This is now a permanent part of my 4-tap rotation...
I brewed this a few weeks ago and despite the 3 ounces of hops added to the secondary, I simply cannot taste any hoppiness at all. It's a shame because other than that it tastes pretty darn good but I love hops and this beer failed to deliver that flavor.
