Product details

A Belgian Dubbel without the deep dark chocolate maltiness, La Petite Orange? is rich with caramel sweetness and a full body that hides the 6.1% ABV very well.

A simple sipper that evokes warm summery memories with every sip, yet fits perfectly into the colder monthsstandard brewing repertoire.

Wyeast Trappist High Gravity Y3787 is a great alternative yeast for this kit; it ferments a bit drier with a rich ester profile, malty palate, and has a high alcohol tolerance.

Haven't tasted yet but...

Missed my numbers got OG of about 1.043 so upped it with some extract. Really not sure how anyone who has a little dead space here and there in their fermenter, mash tun, and/or kettle can hit the stated numbers with this recipe. Open to having my mind changed, but I'm sure the beer will taste great. Thx

La Petite Orange

Good Summer beer.

La Petite Orange

After two weeks of bottle conditioning it had a definite medicine after taste and low carbonation. After three weeks of bottle conditioning the beer was more mellow and is beginning to have a "Belgian" taste. The carbonation was much improved. Hopefully the the beer will continue to improve.

Second time as good as first

What a great summer beer. Last year I took it to our local beer club and it got greats reviews. Only negative the orange was not coming through enough. This time put zest of 3 oranges but only used 3/4 TBS of coriander. Turned out really good. Met all my targets. Always a crowd pleaser.

Very Very Good

Brewed 5 weeks ago and finally got to try. This is excellent and will now be in my regular rotation. As described this is a great tasting beer that drinks very light. Great for spring.
