Brewmaster Brad's Notes: "Obi Ron's Wheat is a perfect beer for the spring and summer months, but it goes down just as nicely any time of year. Brewed with nearly 50% white wheat and a dash of light crystal malt, the malt flavors are quite prominent and serve as a perfect backdrop for a modest hop charge. The choice of liquid yeast pairings works wonderfully to accentuate hop flavor with a heightened fermentation derived ester profile, and a small Centennial dry hop step serves to really round out the aroma."

Nice Balance

It has a good balanced flavor. The all-wheat recipe makes it unique. I'm glad I made it and will likely make it again next midsummer.

Great American Wheat Ale to mess with.

I ordered this knowing I was not going to brew it exactly as the recipe stated. I love the beer it is modeled after, so I knew it was a good base recipe. I pitched Philly Sour into it and left out the dry hop. I racked it onto two pounds of mango and two pounds of pineapple for secondary. This made an incredibly refreshing summer beer. If I do it again I will add some corn sugar to the boil to help the Philly Sour yeast along.

Makes a great blueberry wheat!

The Wheat was a good solid flavor, but a little hoppier than what I was going for. The beer wasn’t hoppy as a whole, just a little hoppier than I wanted. I added blueberries to the secondary, and a small amount of blueberry extract at bottling. Turned out amazing - will make again.

Good things come to those who wait, a great wheat beer indeed. A tad more sweet than a true Hefeweizen, don't pass this kit by.
