Product details

Not your typical amber ale, patterned after Belgian-style pale ales, which might be described as slightly less bitter, more fruity versions of English pale ales. Our Phat Tyre kit is copper-red with a fruity, slightly spicy aroma and flavor that comes from a combination of yeast and hops. A blend of Munich, caramel and Victory malts creates a sweet, toasty, bready character that lingers from the aroma through the finish.

I need a bit of incentive if I 'm going to spend some time critiquing my order. )

Just like the namesake!

This brew turned out great. A full-bodied ale that’s smooth and not too hoppy. The only problem was when I dropped a full bottle, breaking it and wasting 16 ounces of beer. Now my basement really smells like a brewery!

Good brew

This recipe produced a clear beer with a nice head and an extremely well balanced taste. Very probably the best recipe kit we’ve purchased from Northern.

Very vigorous fermentation which has been atypical of other kits though the results were fine. Made for a pleasant brewing experience and ultimately a good flavor.

Not a perfect emulation of Phat Tyre, but quite close.

Highly recommended.
