This White Bordeaux style wine is a classic French blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Citrus and grassy aromas lead to a gorgeous palate with refreshing grapefruit and lemon/lime flavors. Gooseberry, passionfruit, and green apple notes come through, hinting at honeysuckle and lemon peel. Serve lightly chilled to emphasize the vibrant acidity and prominent citrus flavors of this crisp dry white.

Short on sugar

I'm an experienced wine maker of 20 years, with kits, grapes, and other fruit. I was surprised that this 6 gallon kit reached a specific gravity of 1.093 (12.7% ABV) at around19 liters. The last kit I made (Rhone valley white blend) hit 1.091 at 23 liters. The range to shoot for stated in the instructions is 1.080 to 1.10 which is pretty danged broad. Going to 23 liters would have brought the ABV of this years kit to under 11% which I consider too low for balance and aging. I understand vintage variations, and It's not really a problem. It just means I will have to top up with a bunch of similar wine during production. Have just not had that happen before with a Winexpert LE kit.
