This yeast can sometimes be finicky, but it produces a great mead. My go to yeast when making mead.
It worked the first time. I will use it again.
This yeast will make a sweet mead, it’s the only yeast I use. I never had any problems with it.
Many reviews had stated this yeast was slow to start or didn't work at all. I found it worked quite well. I followed package directions and it worked great on a Plum Sweet Mead. I do wish it was a bit cheaper but if the final taste was definitely better than with the yeast I had used in the past.
I've brewed about 20 - one gallon batches using dry yeast with no problem; however, I wanted to try something where I could have some residual sugars left at the finish. After three days, zero evidence of fermentation. Ended up re-pitching EC-1118. Hoping I'm not out $60 worth of honey.
