Product details

The all natural Blackberry fruit puree from Brewer's Orchard adds an intense and characteristic aroma and flavor of fresh blackberries in beer and mead. Only non-GMO blackberries that are ripe and healthy are used to make this puree.

The blackberry puree is a completely natural product; undiluted, unconcentrated, and preservative-free. Contains no seeds and has been commercially sterilized.

The puree can be added directly to the primary or secondary fermenter - do not boil.

 Features:

  • 100% Natural Preservative Free Fruit Puree
  • Non-GMO
  • Aseptic Blackberry Puree
  • Brix: 6.5 - 8
  • Specific Gravity: 1.026 - 1.032
  • pH: 2.65 - 3.5

 Usage Rate:

Most commercial breweries use 1-3 pounds of fruit puree per gallon of beer. Eleven pounds of puree is a great size for 5 gallon batches.

When making a Melomel use between 1.25 and 2.2 pounds of fruit puree per gallon depending on the flavor and aroma profile you desire.

When adding fruit puree to beer or mead, please take into consideration that 11 lbs of puree has a volume between 1 to 1.4 gallons. This will affect your final volume.

Recommended Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place at temperatures below 75°F for the best shelf life.

Note: Once opened, the product should be consumed as soon as possible and kept refrigerated or frozen.

Costly and Doesn't go far

Hello,

I've tried #2 5gal batches with 2 can of blueberry puree, and 16lbs of frozen blueberries, too each. Thought it said 1 can can do 1-3 gals! Don't trust that!

This was on a (finished @ 8% other finished at 11%abv) mead.
The berry flavor was not there! It's was still way, way, way watered down on both!
I'm in the middle of 3gal, approx 10% abv mead. 2 cans of blueberry and 1 bags of blackberry puree. ( Doing the one can/ bag per gal)Fingers crossed I get the punch I'm looking for! I also got the flavor juices just in case.
I gave 4 star because the price is super high for the concentration! It would be much cheaper for me to buy 8lb bags of frozen blueberries for $8 to get the berry flavor I want!

Zach.
