Product details

One of the only beer styles truly born in the USA, this classic American Cream Ale is medium-light bodied and smooth, gold in color and low in bitterness.

Cream Ales played a brief, but shining role in American beer history. As crisp, clean pilsners gained popularity in the US thanks to the influence of German immigrants, American ale-makers responded with a style that mimicked the lighter-tasting lagers sweeping the nation. Though nowhere near as wildly popular, Cream Ales remained an easy-drinking specialty style in the Eastern US for years to come.

Like the original, our Cream Ale is medium-bodied and smooth on the palate, gold in color and low in bitterness. Custom-built with quality ingredients, the recipe kit includes a specialty grain blend that adds some complexity with a clean, sweet malt profile and a hint of buttered toast in the aroma and flavor. A homebrewed "lawnmower beer," Cream Ale is pretty hard to beat as a summertime thirst-quencher.

Cayenne Cream Ale was a HUGE hit!

I added 7 dried cayenne peppers in a hop bag from my garden to the last 30 mins of the boil. I carried over the peppers to the fermenter for 14 days. Upon kegging it was not spicy enough for what I was going for so added 7 more sanitized peppers to the keg. Carb'd up and wowza!!!! This was an exceptional brew that was absolutely crushed by my family and friends!

A Great Flagship Beer for my Fleet

This is my second time brewing this wonderfully delicious Cream Ale. I ordered and brewerd this recipe last year and its was true to its style and easy to brew.
I have been using Northern Brewer for my brewing supplies because they always come through with their recipes and delivery.
I'll be ordering this fine recipe again in the near future 😎🍻

Top notch

Northern brewer always comes through. This cream ale kit did not disappoint. Friends who tried it described it as "a beer I could drink a few of every day". What higher praise could a homebrewer hope for?

It turned out good!

I’m new to brewing, this was my 3rd batch and first all grain. The previous kit were extract and had excellent instructions, this all grain kit instructions were minimal at best, I guess when doing all grain, Biab, you’re supposed to know wtf to do.... customer support was responsive, but way too vague... for me anyways... I was able to google search the answers, and the beer turned out good. I won’t buy again and I’ll go to my local vender when buying all grain kits so I can get the skinny...
