Honey Kolsch Extract Beer Recipe Kit
A variation on our extremely popular Kölsch recipe with the addition of honey and a unique yeast strain for a lighter body and flavor. Like our original Kölsch kit, this recipe features a pale color, light body, and smooth mouthfeel. Honey adds subtle floral character and lightens the body by fermenting to dryness. Really nice as a summer brew for barbecues and picnics, or to wean your friends off watery mass-produced lagers.

I added 4oz of Strawberry flavoring at racking stage and it turned out SOOO good.
My OG was 1.050 and FG was 1.010 so it came out to be about 5.3% ABV
I skipped second fermentation after about 1 1/2 weeks of primary and doing a gravity sample and seeing that fermentation was done, then I cold crashed for 24 hours before racking.
Brewed easy and tasty 5 days out of the keg. Highly recommend!
Honestly, this is only my second beer so it could’ve been me but something is definitely off with this beer. The directions were super simple. Strait extract brew. Nothing complicated. Followed direction to the letter. It turned out way darker than I thought it was supposed to. No big deal, it’s just color right. Well it’s been bottled awhile now and it smells off. Kinda sour, almost offensive but not like it’s infected. Just really yeast and not good. Tastes is similar to the smell. I’m hoping a little more time in the bottle helps it because right now it’s not good. Not good at all
I added some sour cherry syrup to this and it ended up very nicely into a cherry kolsch. It's cheap enough that it's a good place to start when you want to add on to the base recipe.
Simply a good beer. I have never had a problem with this batch or any batch from
Northern Brewer orders I have purchased! All ingredients every time and timely shipping. Another fav of mine is Lemon drop.
