Product details

A variation on our extremely popular Kölsch recipe with the addition of honey and a unique yeast strain for a lighter body and flavor. Like our original Kölsch kit, this recipe features a pale color, light body, and smooth mouthfeel. Honey adds subtle floral character and lightens the body by fermenting to dryness. Really nice as a summer brew for barbecues and picnics, or to wean your friends off watery mass-produced lagers.

Honey Kolsch Extract

The beer recipe was simple, and the brewing process went well. The finished product is very good, however, there is very little honey flavor.

Honey Kolsch review

It was a faster brew than whole grain. The honey was crystallized. Made for a difficult addition. We are currently drinking it. It tastes better with lemon.

I just brewed this on 6/30/25. Right now it is in second fermentation. Testing the gravity it looks good and it taste good. I did add jalapeño extract at the beginning of second fermentation. I did take a taste afterwards and it taste wonderful. I will be bottling this next week. If I have any changes to my readings, I will submit that but right now everything is good.

I love Northern/Midwest Brewer very easy to order from very prompted delivery

Got a good feeling

A very easy beer to brew. Just wanted to make a real drinkable beer for the coming months when it gets warmer out. I added about 3 lbs of mango and 3 lbs of peaches to the secondary for about a week. I just bottled it about a week ago, so I haven’t tried it yet, but I gave it a little taste at bottling and I think it’s going to come out awesome. One last note I used frozen mango and frozen peaches, I just let them thaw overnight and put them in couple hops bags and placed them into the secondary fermenter for a week.
