This kit made brewing my first batch a no questions asked success. The steps were clear, and the materials seem to all be excellent quality. I’m drinking my first batch and am happy with the result for my first attempt. I’ll look forward to growing into this kit as I pursue making further batches of goodness.
I purchased this as a gift for my son. The kit was missing a piece (or maybe damaged), but he contacted customer service and was sent a replacement piece right away. Great customer service! He’s already made two batches with his kit, and loves it!! We highly recommend!
Had pretty much everything needed to brew a batch. Since it was our first time ever making beer, only complaint is instructions need to be more thorough. A stand alone recipe kit is more informative, which we had luckily.
I wanted to get started and wanted the "best" and "premium" sounded better than deluxe and more than "basic." This is from what I can tell the basic but with a immersion cooler. A plastic "big mouth bubbler" for the primary and no secondary fermentation vessel. While the immersion cooler is good in theory...it isn't immediately useful summer in the South. The videos report people getting tap water that is ~60-65F. Here its 80-85F. I had to give up on the immersion chiller and buy some bags of ice. Apparently some folks have figured out how to use a fish tank pump and such to get the water cold enough as it goes into the chiller -- but that's not first timer stuff. So if I were just starting out all over again, I'd rather have two glass carboys than one immersion chiller. The plastic big mouth bubbler was kinda harder to clean than I'd imagine the glass would be as all of the solids stick to it in a crust. I think I'd have wanted to try a secondary. So I didn't hate it. It worked. The beer was delicious but glass > plastic and the chiller is "Northern" indeed. I will use the chiller after I figure out the fish tank pump ice method thing.
It’s was delicious
