Private Rye Undercover Brown Ale Extract Beer Recipe Kit
Use your deductive powers to uncover a refreshing, easy drinking brown ale. You may observe a creamy biscuit, caramel, and toasty spice flavor, while an earthy cocoa and light hop character dominate the aroma.
As you delve deeper, a light spice from the rye malt lurking in the shadows may reveal itself to you. Deceptively light in body, covertly big on flavor, and it only available from Northern Brewer.

my third home brew, very nice and mild. a little nutty and sweet. 6% ABV
Just opened my first bottle. Really nice flavor with the rye toning down what is sometimes a richer brown ale.
This is my favorite recipe from NB. The last couple of times I have made it, I have added .75 oz of the Columbus hops instead of the recipe recommend .5 oz. I primary for 2 weeks then bottle. It needs about 6 weeks in the bottle for the flavor to really develop.
The first two batches of Private Rye I made, I used the whole ounce of Cascade hops in each batch, and liked the result. The last two batches I only used a half an ounce in each batch. The first of the last two batches is much smoother than previous batches, without being overly sweet. The second of the last two is still fermenting.
