Tangerine Dream

I wanted to do a 'citrus' brew this year for Christmas and this one certainly fit the bill. Used A20 Citrus to really amp things up. Great recipe.

Great brew!

This turned out to be a very nice straightforward brew with great taste and great color! Citrus tones are apparent.

Trouble with Tangerine Peel

Bottled today and I'm optimistic about the taste of the final product. The tangerine peel remains suspended in the bottling bucket and clogged the bottling wand. Bottles were taking more than 5 minutes to fill. I stopped and unclogged a few times, but it quickly reclogged. Stopped after 30 bottles. I recommend transferring to the bottle bucket through a hop pouch or other filter.

Very Tasty!

This was my first all-grain brew. I did a 1 step 90 minute BIAB mash with just over 7 gallons of water. Pitched @70F with Voss Kveik. The tangerine peel required a bit more vodka than the directions stated. Tossed in the tangerine peel on day 5, then left in primary for 3 more weeks while waiting for keg space. Kegged and force carbonated @30psi for about 4 days and it was ready to drink! Very smooth, slightly malty with subdued hop bitterness and just a hint of tangerine. The orangy esters from the Voss definitely compliment the tangerine. I would highly recommend brewing this with Voss and just not worrying about temp control ( one less thing, right?? ). A crushable pale that I would brew again!
