The BeerGun® is an innovative stainless bottle filler that is less complex than a traditional counter-pressure filler. One-handed operation—just pull the trigger! Easily fill a growler of your kegged beer for a party or fill perfectly carbonated bottles for competition.

The BeerGun® purges a bottle with CO2 gas from a draft system and then transfers carbonated beer from a keg into the purged bottle with minimal foaming, preserving a high level of the beer's carbonation. It is extremely simple to clean and set up. Everything that touches the beer is stainless steel, and includes 10 feet of 3/16" ID hose and a cleaning brush.

Also needed but not included is a tee or wye adapter to split the gas line between the keg and the CO2 supply. We recommend a wye adapter (#K035) and a 1/4" MFL shutoff valve (#K038) added to your regulator. Or upgrade your kegerator/keezer with a gas distribution manifold. Always have an extra CO2 port on hand!

Great over all but needs a modification for comfort
Overall I love this product!

Its a huge step up from using a bottling bucket or trying to bottle with a tap. The first time I used it I had a small amount of foaming (no more than the bucket or tap filling). The second time I dropped the keg temperature down to about 35 deg F. and had almost none.

I do wish the trigger would be pulled back much closer to handle when pressed. I have average size hands for a man and could feel some strain in my fingers and wrist by the time I'd finished bottling the second case.

My wife however was not able to use it at all with one hand. Needless to say I got an earful about designing "things" for men only. And "Don't they know that women brew beer too?" I of course nodded my head and said I'd let them know.

I'd definitely recommend this product.

Newly Upgraded BeerGun is Amazeballs!
I have used the Northern Brewer Last Straw numerous times and always had issues with foaming. I have also used the original Blichmann BeerGun having issues with losing the rubber tip into the bottom of a bottle and having to dump a bottle of beer to retrieve it.

The new Blichmann BeerGun works great. No foaming issues like the Last Straw, and no lost tips like the original BeerGun. Fits perfectly in your hand and the new CO2 trigger makes for a smoother transition between the beer and gas triggers, leading to less accidental CO2 slips into half full bottles creating geysers. The Beer trigger on this model also seems to have less slip on the fingers. On the older model I would find my fingers starting to slip off the trigger 3/4 of the way through a bottle and have to stop and readjust before beginning again. This hasn't been an issue so far on the new model.

No foaming
No problems with foaming. Just lowered pressure in keg to 10-12 psi. Very easy to use.

I'm glad I made the switch to a beer gun!
I used the beer gun for the first time today. Although the initial setup takes a few more minutes than a siphon, it makes the job so much easier and the bottle filling consistently carbed and filled. The ability to pre-fill and top the bottles off with CO2 is a great feature!

So this is used primarily to fill your bottle/growler from already an ALREADY carbonated keg? It does not carbonate the beer as it is added to the bottle/growler or it might a little but not to desired levels?

BEST ANSWER: Your beer should already be carbonated to the desired CO2 level. The beer gun does not carbonate as it fills. You will want to be able to separately control the CO2 pressure used to push the beer through the beer gun. This is mainly to prevent foaming and does not contribute to the CO2 level absorbed into the beer.
Can this be used to bottle 750ml champagne style bottles?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t see why not. The barrel is about a foot long. It might not reach all the way to the bottom, but you start filling by tilting the bottle anyway. I’ve used it to fill 22oz bombers before.

So if I bottle beer with this is the end result like normal bottle conditioned beers? Can I store them for long periods or do they need to be used quicker then traditional conditioned bottles?

Would this work for bottling carbonated soda?

BEST ANSWER: Sure, it can work for that use. It's a bit tougher to get sodas carbonated to the level that people expect soda to be carbonated at, though! "Commercial" soda is carbonated to a very high level, it's a little tricky to do it that way at home, without very-long serving lines, to maintain the resistance needed to hold the CO2 in solution. The "Flow-Control" faucets can also help with this. But the BeerGun-type fillers could be used to fill bottles with soda from a keg of carbonated soda, yes. -Mike W, Northern Brewer
