Product details

What would happen if you augmented the slightly dry, caramelly and roasty character of a smooth, mellow English brown ale with the sweet floral flavor of honey? What if you added the honey at the very last possible minute to maximize its presence in the finished beer? What if it was delicious? This recipe is a spinoff of our highly popular Nut Brown Ale kit that combines American malts, hops and ale yeast with honey. A well-balanced and intensely drinkable beer.

Honey Brown Ale Extract Kit

Nice kit with easy to follow directions. I also added the Fast Pitch & Fast Prime. If bottle conditioning I recommend the Fast Prime ( beer has what I would expect a brown ale to have) The brow Ale Flavor is really good. I tried the honey before hand & was on the bland side not bad just tasted like store bought mass produced which is fine but I prefer more flavor, so I used 1.75lbs of local honey. I went with the extra amount due to reading other reviews.Very happy with how the beer came out. I am using the Kit honey in other batches to boost ABV. overall it is a really good kit & would purchase again though I am switching over to all grain

Solid and repeat kit

Family enjoyed this beer and have re-ordered it as one of my staple rotation of nice, malty beers to have on hand. I use normal, stainless cooking gear and follow recipe pretty tight. Glass carboy and Grolsch bottles. This recipe had just the slightest hint a bite but then a smooth, malty richness that wasn't too sweet but the honey background was distinct from just a normal, brown ale. So malty but still a refreshing beer anytime.

Honey Brown Ale

Turned out really good. I would add more honey next time. I was hoping for a little more sweetness.

Good Stuff!

Honey Brown has always been a “go to” for me…. So when I started brewing my own beer I was happy to see this one available. Good stuff!
