Chugger (X-DRY) SS Inline Pump
The new Chugger X-Dry model has been modified to include Run Dry Protection. Long gone are the days of worrying about burning out your motor or warping the impeller. With its updated FDA Approved Carbon Bearing Materials, running this pump un-primed won’t damage a thing.
Please note, the Chugger X-Dry Home Brew Pump is not Self Priming, so while you CAN run it dry, the pump will still require liquid to be flowing to it in order to pump liquid to your destination.

I use this pump for a cip ball. Works great.
Exactly what I needed.
Great pump for the job!
I’m still working out the kinks of my process with this meaty pump in the mix, but so far I’m mostly very pleased. It’s certainly made transfers of heated water and wort a lot less hazardous, and freedom from gravity has made my setup a lot more compact. Even with just one pump in my kit, I’ve gotten gravity-driven transfers down to just one in my process, and that’s because I’m using the chugger to run my sparge arm.
A ball valve to control outflow is a critical add-on, and you’ll eventually want to mount it.
My only compliant so far is that it has proven very prone to losing its prime. I have not used other pumps of this type, so this may be a common issue, but I can’t help but blame the one I’m cursing at when the water just doesn’t move in the middle of a brew step. It’s correctly oriented, and this pump has the happy advantage of not burning out if it runs dry, but it really shatters one’s calm
I’ve now ordered parts to integrate a bleed off valve. Here’s hopin’.
Works as expected
