Home brewing just got better
After years of bottling I decided to bite the bullet and try kegging. So happy I did! The process of bottling is a hassle which usually makes a big mess and takes WAY too much time. Furthermore, once you bottle it always seems like a roulette game as to whether the bottle will have too much or too little head space leading to uneven carbonation. The draft brewer system solves all that. Simply transfer the entire batch, turn on the gas, give it a couple of shakes and three days later you have smooth consistent pours allowing you to enjoy your home brew sooner. The draft brewer keg system is very well built and the instructions are easy to follow. I expected some hassles along the way but I encountered none. I just finished and cleaned the keg after my first batch, to my surprise there was NO wasted leftovers at the bottom. Iâ??m never going back to bottling again. Thanks NB for another great product!

The system is really nice. Easy to set up. The only issue I had. Was the tap tubing that come with the system was too short and I was getting excessive foam out of my tap. I feel the system should come with at least 12 foot of tubing.
I would recommend this to someone else.

Nice Setup
Came with everything needed to keg my first beer except the CO2 bottle.
All of the parts seem high quality and should last a long time.

Super easy and makes clean up a breeze with the wide mouth
Carbonated my first brew yesterday, instructions were to the point and it also helps that the pressure gauge is labeled for the types of beers you are carbonating.
Cooling at 30°F need to built a barrier between the ice and tap lines. 1950's era Fridge problems.

Everything in one box to quit botteling
good product, easy to install and use. Everything except the CO2 tank is in the box. Had some trouble with a slow drip on one of the bands and I still can't get the CO2 levels correct - although that is no fault of the product. I actually bought a second one- so I highly recommend this product.

First Keg, very happy
This is my first keg and boy....is it sweet :)
Very happy with the quality of the system. I'll be experimenting this weekend with kegging a smaller batch (3 gallon) into the full keg, and perhaps bottling some force carbonated. Its all about the experimentation and the journey!
Very happy with this purchase.

What are the keg dimensions???
A shopper on Dec 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The keg is 25 inches tall from bottom of keg to top of the handle. It is 8 1/2 inches around at the widest part of the rubber collar on the bottom.
Can you bottle your beer after it has been kegged...that is use keg as storage facility until you have bottles or if you wish to bottle brew later?
A shopper on Jan 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely, in fact, it's a great way to keep oxygen out. You can either add priming sugar to the keg and bottle right away, or carbonate, then use a beer gun or similar device to bottle.
What is the minimum amount of space needed inside a fridge to fit this set up including a 5lb CO2 tank?
A shopper on Jul 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for contacting Northern Brewer. The diameter of the keg is 8.75" diameter, and the height is 25" with the disconnects in place. The size of a 5lb CO2 tank is 5.25" diameter and 18" tall. Hopefully that will help to figure out how much space you need. Cheers!
Noob question - but do you have to make five gallons of beer, or can you start with a small batch?
A shopper on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You don't HAVE to make a five gallon batch, but I think it works much better. It's a lot of maintenance (should clean the lines, spout, and keg every time) and CO2 for something like a one gallon batch. CO2 for purging the excess air, which you'll have a lot in a one gallon batch, and carbonating. I prefer bottling one gallon batches, but ultimately your preference.
Can the CO2 be removed and the keg be transported once the beer is ready?
A shopper on Mar 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sure, and it'll hold its carb too, but you'll need to bring the co2 tank to be able to hook it back up to serve it.
What size co2 tank for the single keg system?
A shopper on Dec 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: A 5 lb tank works great.
Previous reviews say that the product is reconditioned. Is it new or used?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Either are available. I purchased a brand new one and few months later a reconditioned one. The new keg was everything you would expect. The gently used one looked just that - no dents just a few scuffs. Both work perfectly.
Does the keg have to be refrigerated?
A shopper on Dec 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The liquid in the keg (beer, pop, etc) would be very difficult to carbonate if not refrigerated..
can this system be used to make carbonated water?
A shopper on Dec 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yea it can. I used it and made some home made lemon-lime soda once.
How do you remove the dip tube? It's not connected to the poppit...
A shopper on May 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: After removing the fitting, the dip tube should pull right out. You may need to angle it a bit while removing it since it's curved.
What is the length of the gas line and draft line?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use about 2’ of gas line and about 3’ of draft line. I have 2 set up and they both are kept in my fridge out side along with gas bottle in fridge also. I have never had a problem in past year.
Can you use nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide with this system? I am going to use it for still meads and not beer.
A shopper on May 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You would need a nitrogen regulator for that use, this comes with a co2 one.
What is the total dimension and weight of the box containing all the products?
A shopper on Apr 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The box for this is 10" by 10" by 36"; the kit package weighs 13 lbs.
The dip tube is stuck in the liquid out post (out of the box). Ive pulled pretty hard. How should I remedy this?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2017
Is the valve on the regulator a check type or straight through? I have experienced a drop in pressure of about four pounds in check types. Not a problem just a consideration.
