Bourbon Barrel Porter Extract Beer Recipe Kit
Bourbon barrel-aged beers have been a hugely popular style ever since American craft brewers first started exploring this deliciously innovative technique in the 1990s. And the results of those experiments have only become more sought-after over the past decades.
We've packed the best elements of the style, along with the finest ingredients, into a foolproof recipe kit that brings the best of the craft breweries to you. By starting with a stronger-than-average robust porter, then infusing it with bourbon-soaked oak (we recommend Maker's Mark), the end result is quite possibly the best beer ever. You'll have to supply your own bourbon, so be sure to save a little to sip on brew day to really capture the spirit. The intense aroma and flavor of toasted American oak and the sweet graininess of good bourbon meld with the bittersweet roastiness of porter to make for a very characterful beer.
Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results.

This is my second batch and it turned out very good with generous head. Even though I am a regular drinker of whiskies, I would decrease the upper recommended amount of bourbon to about 1/2. Though still a good "sipping" beer, the oak/bourbon is quite strong. Still one of my favorites! Will make again.
It was a long brewing process but ended up with a great product. Thanks!
I've brewed this before and it was a big hit.
This time brewing it, friends and family asked me why it took so long to brew it again?
It will now be on my yearly to brew list.
This is one of the best beer kits I've ever made, robust, flavorful and a perennial cold-weather favorite.
Haven't finished this batch yet, but I have made this beer twice before and it is
