Ebbegarden Kveik

K.9 Ebbegarden flavor and aroma is tropical fruit heavy. The intensity is medium to high at high fermentation temperatures, and at lower temperatures, it will be less intense. Ebbegarden enhances bitterness, and it is recommended to adjust to lower IBU. Ebbegarden ferments well from 64°F (18°C) and up to 100°F (38°C). The higher fermentation temperature, the faster fermentation. At the highest temperature you can expect the beer to ferment in 48 hours. When fermentation is done at low temperatures you can expect fermentation time to increase. We recommend users to pitch two packs of yeast and add yeast nutrition to ensure a healthy fermentation when fermenting at low temps.

More about Ebbegarden Kveik:

Ebbegarden kveik comes from Ebbegarden farm in Stordal, Norway. Ebbegarden has traditionally produced fruit, which is believed to be the source of the fruitiness in their kveik. During the Viking age, the mild climate made many Vikings settle down to fish and farm the land in Stordalen, and the first church was built in the 1100’s. Beer and spirits were a big part of celebrations and gatherings for birth, confirmations and burials, and people made their own beer with kveik, especially for these gatherings.

Amazing Yeast!

I was really amazed at how fast this yeast ran through the wort - Brewed on Sunday, bottled on Saturday, cracked the first one on Wed. - 11 days and it was very good! Used it in a hazy IPA, it gave a really good tropic/citrus kick. Pitched at 90 degrees f, the closet with the fermenter was kept right around 85 -87 for three days, then let it "cool" to room temp of around 78 over the next 4 days, cold crashed and bottled. I will be using this again for certain, already ordered two more packs and am going to try to reuse some! I highly suggest this in a hazy.
