Product details

High quality 2-row Norfolk winter barley is recognized as the best raw material for traditional ale malt. This low protein barley is sourced locally from farmers and specially processed with high cast moisture levels and long slow germination to guarantee both well and evenly modified malt.

Low protein and high modification make it well suited to the traditional ale brewing technique of infusion mashing and top fermentation. The characteristic elevated colors and balanced malty sweet flavor result in this malt being one of the most popular for tradition ale brewing. 2.5-3.5°L

Tremendous Crisp Malt

I’m thrilled that Crisp Pale Malt is available for Homebrewers. It’s remarkable in any Brit, Irish or Scottish style. When I was a pro brewer, I centered our ESB on it and have now been reviving that recipe along with a Scottish Rye Ale at home. Use it with a good base malt like Rahr 2 row and you won’t be disappointed. Cheers!

Malt was good in my english bitter. I used two different yeast and malt profile remained good in both.

Perfect for English Ales

I just finished drinking my batch of Sweet Stout. Excellent choice for English styles. OG was exactly as expected, and flavor profile had the perfect amount of maltiness.
