Nice porter, could use a little more body. I don’t really taste the coconut, almost more of a vanilla flavor. If you want coconut flavor, the NEIPA has it. Tastes better after about 1 month in bottles.
Conditioning in the bottles now. But up to this point very satisfied! Going into the bottle taste was on point, love the coconut addition, its not overpowering at all.
I gave this beer a 5 star because I brewed a 5 gl batch for our Friendly Sons of St. Patrick meeting and they emptied a 5gl keg in a 2 hour meeting which means it was a hit. I wish I could give better review and say more good things about this beer but it just wasn’t my “cup o tea” Everyone else did love it. If this beer sounds interesting , brew it, you will probably love it too
Just added coconut to fermenter at day 14 will update when keged and consumed for Christmas.I got an og of 1076 with fg of 1012. It’s gonna be stronger than anticipated but that is ok.
Truly was not excited to brew this recipe. Turned out way better than expected. You do have to like coconut obviously but I have to say for as much coconut that was put into the recipe, it's not over powering. I did get a very high efficiency percentage; could be due to BIAB. Kegged it at 25 PSI at 36 degrees for 3 days, a bit long but I like a lot of carbonation. Anyway, this is a great recipe, try it!
