Product details

Putting some fizz into your homebrew has never been easier!

Northern Brewer Fizz Drops are designed to take the place of making a priming solution and batch priming. These drops help to reduce the guesswork often associated with irregular batch size bottle conditioning, because they are a uniform weight of pure sugar.

Package Includes: 8 oz., Qty= 60 Drops (approximately).

To use:
1 drop per 12-16 oz bottle
2 drops per 22 oz or 750mL bottle

Simply drop in each sanitized bottle before filling it with beer. The drop should dissolve within 72 hours - carbonation time remains the same, usually 2-3 weeks.

What a great idea

Those drops make it so much easier then pouring in hot sugar, and the beer came out with the perfect amount of carbonation. Good job 👏

Fizz drops work great for me

I have used fizz drops for several successful batches of beer from NB. The first few packages of drops were hard to get in the NB 12 oz bottles (too wide to “drop” in), but a good hard push usually dropped them in the bottle and they are so convenient and measured for the 12 oz bottle that we put up with the mis-sizing.
HOWEVER- the last packages I’ve used dropped easily into the bottle and we’re much improved over the previous shape that caused difficulties.
I hope NB continues with the new slimmer shape - making bottling day a breeze!
Merry Christmas- Cheers!

fizz drop size

The fizz drops work great for standard beer bottles, but when I tried to use, used ceramic swing top bottles the fizz drops were too big. they had to be busted up to get them in. It made a big mess.

One size doesn't always fit all

Sometimes the fizz drops don't fit into every bottle. Had a hard time getting them through short necked bottles such as Abita and Sierra Nevada, as well as Grolsch bottles. When I was able to get the drops through, they sometimes had inconsistent results for fizz. Some had more, some had less. I like the idea of these drops over priming sugar but also wish that they fit more bottles.

Not the best option out there

Bought these as an alternative to the Coopers drops. Sad to say, these drops have have not met my expectations by comparison.

First issue is that the drops vary significantly in size, with a majority of them unable to even fit through the opening of a bottle. This alone makes the simple task of dropping in the carb tablets a chore and adds unnecessary work to the bottling process.

I've also noticed that the amount of carbonation produced is less as compared to the brand name product after a two week carbonation period. The head produced by these drops is thin and short lived.

Every other product I've purchased from NB has been solid, so it came as quite a surprise to have such a poor experience here.
