Worked perfectly for my Hoegaarden Clone

This yeast worked perfectly for my Hoegaarden clone from Brewfather. It was a bit slow to start, which concerned me; then off to the races. Really good stuff.

Worked for my Witbier

My Witbier came out just like it should. I pitched the yeast straight from the pouch without making a starter. There were visible signs of fermentation within 12 hours. FG was lower than expected, but it did ferment at 70 F so that may be why. The beer came out great though.

Perishable liquid yeast arrived hot

Fortunately, I was able to revive the yeast by making a starter culture, but when this arrived both the package and yeast contained within were hot to the touch. If I had attempted to use as-is, I may have had issues with my fermentation.

The package of yeast was kept cool the majority of the transit time and should not be an issue. If you are concerned it's always a good practice to make a yeast starter to make sure the liquid yeast is alive and well. If you do not have a flask you can make a starter by boiling and cooling the starter in a small saucepan and then pouring that into a sanitized growler with a piece of sanitized aluminum foil over the top. If the starter fails to go we are more than happy to replace the yeast for you.
