Product details

Wyeast 4766 Cider is a crisp dry fermenting yeast with big, fruity finish. Creates a nice balance for all types of apples, pears and other fruit or fermentables. Allows fruit character to dominate the profile. Temperature range: 60-75 F. Alcohol Tolerance: 12%.

NOTE: During summer months, we include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeast orders. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will stay frozen given transit times and particularly hot temperatures. For this reason, we recommend ordering dry yeast during summer months.

Strawberry Cider

Used it to make a batch of strawberry cider, don't have a control to compare it to as it's my first strawberry cider batch but results are promising.

Slow but steady

First time making cider, 11 gal batch. Was a little concerned with the ferment at first (used to the very active ferments of big beer yeasts). The fermentation started off slow, but steady. The recipe had apple juice plus added brown sugar OG 1.063, and I had created a starter. A week later, still fermenting, another week, still fermenting. At three weeks, still fermenting, a bubble every couple minutes into blow-off tube, SG 1.03, and transferred to secondary. That was 1-1/2 weeks ago, so waiting patiently, giving this one a little more time.
