These bottle caps are perfect for brewers afflicted with tactile hyposensitivity, or anyone who's ever thought, "This beer feels cold, but it doesn't look cold." Take the guesswork out of chilling your homebrew with these amazing cold-activated crown caps. They begin to change to a blue color at approx. 46 degrees, and reach "maximum blue tonality indication" at 41 degrees. What does that mean? If the cap is blue, you've got cold brew. They're fun, inexpensive, a little out of the ordinary, and a good way to start a conversation about your homebrew.

Cold blue caps
Iâ??ve used these caps before to let me know how cold the beer is. I also keep one in the bottom of my beer fridge to regulate the temperature setting. When its dark blue itâ??s close to freezing Brewdog333

Problem with longnecks
I had trouble getting these caps to crimp/seal properly on longneck bottles which were either old PBRs or Pacificos. The caps actually popped off with a push of the thumb! Glad I noticed while bottling. No problems with other bottles including those purchased here, old Fat Tire, Not Your Father's Root Beer & Ginger Ale. They do change color as promised and actually indicate the beer, not just cap, is cold! I will continue to use them on "short neck" bottles.

Really cool
These things are really nifty and are accurate for that perfect temp beer.

Neat novelty
These are a fun way to show off your beers, but I noticed that the caps turn blue minutes after being put into the fridge. So it's not really an accurate way to say your beer is cold, just the cap is.

Bad caps
We've tried using this cap on the last 2 batches. Neither batch carbonated. First one we used a bench bottler. Second time we tried the bench and a hand one. The caps just won't crimp enough to get a good seal.

good seal
Have been using these with great success with my bench capper. They seal just fine and haven't had any issues with long necks or short bottles.

Love em
I really like these caps, plan on aging some stouts so like the idea of the oxygen absorbing cap.

Can one step cleaner be used with these caps?
Kyle H on Sep 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It would not be the best option. Since that is a percarbonate based cleaner which means it cleans with the power of oxygen it would limit the effectiveness of the oxy liner..the caps would still work but might not be as effective at removing oxygen. I would consider not cleaning

and just sanitizing with an iodine or phosphoric acid based cleanser. Hope this helps!
