Product details

The most helpful fermentor ever invented just got even better. Less effort. Better, clearer beer. Don't just cut out the hassle of cleaning, cut out siphoning altogether! Porting this revolutionary fermentor makes transferring as easy as the turn of a valve. No extra equipment, no extra cleaning, just a sanitized fermentor.

Now Includes the Big Mouth Bubbler® Carrying Harness for lifting, transporting and ensuring your Big Mouth Bubbler lid stays firmly in place during even the most intense fermentations.

Included:

  • Siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler® - Ported 5 Gallon Plastic Fermentor
  • Spigot
  • New Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid
  • Universal Harness for Big Mouth Bubblers®

Required but not included:

The Siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler® Plastic isn't just easier to use. It's better for your beer. Fight oxidation and contamination by keeping your fermenter closed for transfers. Never open the lid to insert an auto-siphon, just turn a valve and you're set. Best of all, you'll have clearer beer. Gently rack liquid from the spout into secondary without disturbing the trub.

The new Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid fits all Big Mouth Bubbler® Fermenters. The Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid is just like a traditional carboy bung, only bigger! Just as easy to sanitize and set in place too. Removable ribbed silicone ring ensures a positive seal to keep out pests, while the non-threaded design allows the lid to move preventing an out-of-control fermentation from dangerously pressurizing your fermenter.

Make your brew day easier and your beer better with the siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler®.

*Pro Tip: Save your box and use it as a cover for your fermenter!

Important Note: Do not fill any Plastic Big Mouth Bubbler® fermenters with very hot liquid - temp should not exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 Celcius)

Lid ports work with our Small Universal Stopper or a standard 6.5 rubber stopper.

5 gallon fermenters are best for the secondary conditioning stage of beer fermentation. The smaller size eliminates extra airspace in the fermenter reducing the chances of oxidation which can stale the beer prematurely. Also available as a 6.5-gallon primary fermenter.

Arrived missing spigot

Customer service is via email. They have been responsive and helpful, but so far no spigot. Carboy sits unused until spigot arrives.

Big Mouth Bubbler good, harness...try again.

I really enjoy using the Big Mouth Bubbler. They're very easy to clean and work with. I did have to purchase a different stopper to accommodate my Plaato airlock, but that was no big deal.
I do not like the harness. The first time I got one all cinched up on the fermenter and ready to move, it slid right out and and gallon of wort came flying out of that big mouth. One of the other things I do is make webbing products. When I get a chance I'm going to make a better harness. I won't use the harnesses that came with it.

How did I live without it?

After using regular carboys for 25+ years of brewing, I bought a 5 gallon siphonless for secondary, and a 6.5 for primary. I'll never go back!!! 4 batches down, no issues at all. I actually do not use the harness, but I rigged it up once and it worked fine. No spigot issues yet, I'm done using my siphon...

Best Thing Ever

I purchased this with the depth charger. I am very happy with it. I purchased this for my secondary fermentation, especially when I am dry hopping. So I still need to siphon from my primary into this. I will be purchasing a 6.5 gal for my primary,

Not having to use the siphon is a god send. All the sentiment stays below the spigot. can easily tilt it slowly and not get that in bottling bucket . My yields have been slightly better.

It is extremely easy to clean, but where it is plastic you have to be extra careful not to scratch it . I have made (3) 5 gal batches so far and I could not be happier with the end result.

The only negative thing is the harness that came with it. At the handle the stitching gave out and the carboy almost tumbled over when I was moving it. I stitched it up and added stitching to the other points where the handle has a loop that the horizontal harness passes through it has been fine sense.

Even with that. Very happy with it.
