The Thrumometer™ is an in-line thermometer, ideal for measuring the temperature of your wort outflow from a counterflow chiller. The interior of this thermometer is mirror smooth, providing no places for bacteria to hide.
This thermometer responds very quickly (1°F per second), has 1°F precision, and 0.5°F accuracy. It never needs calibrating. If you use a highly-efficient counterflow wort chiller, the Thrumometer™ will help you avoid over-chilling your wort, and will save water.
This instrument is made from a heat-treated highly corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy that will last a lifetime!
Requires 3/8" ID tubing. Should not be used with liquids exceeding 140°F.

the Blichmann ThruMometer worked perfectly for me as I cooled my wort. It was easy to read and allowed me to properly regulate the temp of the wort being transferred to my fermenter.
Consider this nice toy almost a must for use with my Grainfather. The counterflow wort chiller on that thing works so fast that it's easy to get the wort too cool, and it happens in the blink of an eye. I hook up the ThruMometer on the cool side out as soon as I get the water flowing, and as soon as it registers 80 F, I start to flow into the fermenter. Sweet!
Easy to clean and use however it takes a bit of time for the readout to respond to any flow adjustment for temperature.
I bought the Thrumometer with a Schirron Plate Chiller and some hose and the Thrumometer allowed me to monitor the wort temperature easily. It was a simple matter to make one adjustment to the water flow rate to maintain a 64 degree outflow. My 5 gallons of boiled wort took 7-1/2 minutes to chill completely by gravity feed.
