Product details

Helio Gazer™ is the latest patent-pending strain in Omega's Thiolized™ series. With enhanced Thiolized capabilities, Helio Gazer boosts thiol biotransformation to free thiols 200x above sensory threshold, creating a supernova of tropical, passion fruit flavors and aromas. Even in the juiciest of IPAs, expect robust guava and New Zealand sauvignon blanc-like aromas along with the beloved sturdy haziness of its parent strain, British Ale V. Pair with mash hopping, grape-derived products, or regional malt and hops for peak thiols. Learn more about biotransformation here.

Helio Gazer's enhanced Thiolized ability produces nearly 20x more thiols than Cosmic Punch, presenting a new option for layering in even more intense, complex thiol character to your beer. Boost tropical aromatics and flavors for a new perspective on IPAs.

Helio Gazer Yeast Characteristics:

  • Temp Range: 64-74°F
  • Attenuation: 71-75%
  • Flocculation: High
  • Alcohol Tolerance: 10% ABV

Available only in the US, while we would love to make these strains available internationally, many countries' regulations do not yet allow the sale of organisms developed using modern gene-editing, regardless of the type of modification introduced by the technique.

Fun yeast to try

Used this in a Hazy IPA and it worked well. The aromas produced by the yeast seem to overpower the hops just a bit. Just an observation from my batch. Overall I like it!
