Product details

This strain is ideally suited to the production of west-coast style American craft beers, especially pale, IPA, red, and specialties. Thorough attenuation, temp tolerance, and good flocculation make this an easy strain to work with. The flavor is balanced neutral with mild ester formation at warmer temps, allowing hops, character malts, and flavorings to show through.

1217-PC West Coast IPA has thorough attenuation, temperature tolerance, and medium-high flocculation, making this strain particularly easy to work with. Mild ester provides a well-balanced neutral flavor creating a focal point for hops, malts, and other flavors to show through eloquently. Pair your West-Coast-Style craft beer with strong and bold flavors of Biryani to heighten the spice and bring out the sharp hops.

More about Wyeast Q2 Private Collection: Spring on the Patio

Spring has sprung in the Pacific Northwest welcomed by days of sunshine, the sound of birds chirping, and the ever-so-missed sound of friends gathering. Warmer weather brings the tastes of Spring from kettle sours to double IPAs. Brewed to share, whether that may be on the patio, at the beer garden, or in your backyard. Spring 2021’s Private Collection holds something for brewers of all skillsets; novice to expert or modern to traditional techniques.

For those still perfecting their craft, 1217-PC West Coast IPA has thorough attenuation, temperature tolerance, and medium-high flocculation, making this strain particularly easy to work with. Mild ester provides a well-balanced neutral flavor creating a focal point for hops, malts, and other flavors to show through eloquently. Pair your West-Coast-Style craft beer with strong and bold flavors of Biryani to heighten the spice and bring out the sharp hops.

For the Brewers looking for something subtle and light in color, 2575-PC Kӧlsch II adds rich flavor drawing attention to its smooth malty finish. Feel like you’re in the heart of Germany with bratwursts, nutty cheeses, and German-Style Kӧlsch. Experiment working with 2575-PC fermentation procedures to produce fruity ales or clean lagers depending on your brewing preference.

5223-PC Lactobacillus brevis creates remarkable Fruit Lambics and Berliner Weisses, making this strain quintessential for Spring. Working with 5223-PC can be challenging and timely; therefore, brewers need to work patiently for proper aging. Worth the wait when you pair dry Fruit Lambic with prosciutto and pear or ceviche and a pint of Gueuze.

Welcome the arrival of Spring with this quarter’s Spring on the Patio private collection. You’ll find these exclusive strains in our limited release from April through June of 2021! Whether you’re a homebrew enthusiast or one of the pros revel in the taste of longer and warmer days.

Great yeast for Pliny the Elder clone. Helped the clone brew come out almost spot on.

I used this yeast for

I used this yeast for a double IPA, OG was 1,082 and FG came in at 1,018. It's a fantastic yeast for big ipa's, the hops shine through, and the yeast gives just enough esters to compliment. Leaves a sweet, malty finish to balance but let's the hops take center stage. I bought another pack to keep for another double IPA I'm going to brew soon.

nothing special

took longer than expected for shipping, but the yeast was semi-activated so i had to use it right away. the final product was tasty. not much different than the tradition 1056, but it did allow the hops to come through. would buy this again.

Highly Recommended

I used this in a Chinook IPA and the results are great. A bit malty but no sacrifice in the hop flavor resulting in a great balance. This will now be my yeast of choice for all IPAs I brew. Highly recommended!

Excellent

I just used this yeast to make a Black Rye IPA and it turn out delicious. It brought out so many wonderful flavors like chocolatey, roastyiness and so many other flavors. I also threw in 6 ounces of Mosaic Hops for late additions and it brought so many flavors from those hops like piney, fruity, and citrus and so many other flavors. I recommend this yeast to anybody that's looking for a yeast to show all the flavors your looking for in your brew. Excellent Yeast Strain. A+++++++
